Program: 3 Waves
1st Wave: The first 10 days of the diet is where you will turn bad eating habits into good eating habits. You will avoid consuming large amounts of sugars, products that contain white flour, and other foods that are quickly absorbed in your body.

2nd Wave: This is the main part of the diet that focuses on health and pleasure of foods where you’ll be including more variety in your food choices. You will stay in this phase until you’ve reached your weight goal.

3rd Wave: This is the maintenance program of the diet and it begins on the day you reach your weight goal or other health goals.

The 3 waves are based on how much food you put on your plate. The basis of The Sonoma Diet is the plate-and-bowl concept using a 7-inch plate for breakfast and 9-inch plate for lunch and dinner and a two-cup bowl. Each wave of the diet will tell you how to fill the plate.

As long as you follow the plate-filling instructions and food lists, you can choose to eat whatever you want. You can follow the suggested meal plans or design your own!

Foods You’ll Eat
The Sonoma diet includes vegetables, fruits, beans, potatoes, nuts, and seeds as well as limiting the intake of eggs, dairy products, and meats.

Wine is not allowed in Wave 1 but is offered in Wave 2.
